Curtains

All of the curtains that are made at McGrath’s are “made to measure”, which generally means they are made exactly to your specific width and drop measurement. All of our curtains will come weighted and lined, were you have a choice of, standard lining, premier lining, blackout lining, thermal lining and interlining. We also do a range of curtain heading too like,

Pencil pleat – Pencil pleat heading is the most popular heading because its very versatile, as it can be used with either a pole or track. The way it works is that a 3 inch heading tape gets stitched to the top of the curtain, then by pulling the cords within the tape, it allows the heading to be naturally compressed creating perfect pleats.

Double or Triple Pinch Pleat

Triple pinch pleat curtains are a very classical and elegant style. The way these are made is that a stiff heading tape called buckram is stitched on the top, then 2 or 3 pleats are pinched together then sewn, leaving a flat gap in between the next pleat set.

Eyelets

Eyelet curtains give a contemporary style and are specifically designed to be operated on a pole. The eyelets are made out of metal, and are evenly spaced along the fabric, which gives a large pleat allowing the curtains to naturally fold perfectly into shape. The eyelets come in a few different colours like brass, silver, gold, chrome and black.

Pelmets

In basic terms a pelmet is a piece timber covered with fabric, used to hide cords, tracks or as a decorative purpose. Whatever the reason, its a great way to transform the window into a feature. Generally pelmets come in all different shapes and sizes, whether you would like it to hold a certain shape, or just some nice finishing touches like a tassel or trimmings.

Poles + Tracks

Curtain tracks are made from either plastic or metal, and once fitted the track will sit close to the wall. Curtains tracks are also a great option if you have a bay window, since they can be bent on side to clone the shape of your window. Curtains are hung using curtain hooks, which attaches to the gliders on the track, which move smoothly along the curtain track when pulled. Once the curtains have been hung, the way they sit is high on the track which makes it less visible or hidden, which is a great option if you would like you curtains to stand out.

Poles are a great option if you would like to add a decorative touch to your curtains/room. Since they are so versatile this day and age with so many different types of colours, thicknesses, finishes, fancy finals like diamonds and……, no matter what your style is, you can definitely find a pole to match.

Accessories

Accessories are a great way to finish your room off, or even spice it up a little. Cushions, matching bedding, bed runner, tiebacks, holdbacks, canvases, and much more.
